Fans were initially unhappy to see João from Below Deck return to the series, but now viewers are starting to admire his growth. Meanwhile, viewers have picked out a new villain in the cast.
Below Deck Down Under Part 2 reintroduced João Franco into the reality series as the new bosun. In previous versions of Below Deck, João was labeled a villain because of his rude and childish behavior.
Bosun may have had a bad reputation on the series, but viewers can’t help but change their minds about João in Season 2 of Below Deck Down Under. In fact, it looks like another crew member has replaced João as the new villain of the Bravo series.
João redeems himself in part 2 of Below Deck Down Under
From what we’ve seen so far of the new bosun, João seems like a completely different person who actually cares about his yachting companions for a change.
Meanwhile, fans of the reality series are convinced that entertainment executive, Culver Bradbury, is the season’s newest villain.
Not only is his behavior questionable when it comes to his social relationships, (i.e. Tzarina and Jaimee’s love triangle), but his card playing skills are also not good.
Because of Culver’s behavior in Season 2 of Below Deck Down Under, fans are wondering if he will replace João as the least likable member of the crew.
“Okay, I’m living for the new and improved João!!” One fan wrote on the Below Deck Down Under subreddit. “He’s really grown up as a human… Meanwhile, Culver stinks. His immaturity really showed and his attitude towards Joao was just… not that.”
Another agreed and wrote, “João gets better and better every season. He is absolutely not the person we met at med s3! We love growth.”
Meanwhile, another fan pointed out the differences between João and Culver when it comes to the reality show. “I think Culver sees his role as a ‘Bravo’ personality as opposed to a card hand; while João really sees being a bosun as a career/experience,” suggested the fan. “I’m disappointed in Culver. I don’t think he’s a terrible person, but his attitude is horrible.”
