When I was a kid, Country Boy Eddie was the main character on morning television. His sidekick, Happy Hal Burns, was my grandparents’ neighbor in Vestavia Hills. He keeps a ventriloquist cowboy doll in his dining room window. Great memories. RIP, CBE.

We don’t have a 4-hour morning news that repeats nauseating promotional news. Instead, we have The Country Boy Eddie Show, a 37-year-old morning primetime show in B’ham. I hate to sound archaic, but even progressives like me sometimes miss the old days. Relax sir.
