How to reshare a post to your Instagram Story

If you find a post you like on Instagram, you might want to promote it by sharing it to your story. Here’s how to do so.

Instagram’s August 2021 update includes a brand new way to reshare posts to your story, but not everyone is a fan, with some calling the new process “tougher.” “.

However, it looks like the app has changed to allow the system to be much easier when it comes to sharing posts to your Instagram story. Here’s how to do it.

How to share posts to your Instagram story

Now that Instagram has returned to an easier process, sharing posts to your story is no longer so difficult.

To reshare a post on Instagram, you need:

1. Open Instagram.
2. Go to the post where you want to share your story.
3. Click the share triangle button below the image.
4. Select ‘Add post to story.’
5. Move and resize the image to your liking and add any text or stickers you want to add.
6. Click the ‘Your Story’ button to upload it.’

You’ll be able to share your own posts as well as other users’ uploads as long as they enable the feature.

How to enable story sharing

If you want to allow others to share your posts, you need to make sure that is allowed in your settings.

InstagramYou can toggle this option in your settings.

1. Tap your profile picture to go to your profile.
2. Tap the three lines in the top right, then go to settings.
3. Click ‘Privacy’ then ‘Stories’.
4. Make sure the button next to ‘Allow story sharing’ is turned to the on position (note: your account needs to be public for this option to be available.

Sharing posts to your story can be a great way to increase your own uploads as well as those of others.
