After Dave Portnoy exposed the Somerville, MA pizzeria as “America’s Worst Pizza Place,” the owner, Charlie Redd, received multiple death threats.

Dragon Pizza owner says he doesn’t want to credit Portnoy for “complicating” his life
Although Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy has raised over $50 million for pizza places so he can rate their pies, the owner of Dragon Pizza doesn’t approve of it. .

Although it is unknown what made Redd not invite Portnoy to review his pizza, the two continued to exchange words, with Portnoy responding to Redd, saying: “F—k you, that’s the street public, you son of a bitch.”
After the incident went viral online, Redd took time to update Boston.com, where he revealed that although Dragon Pizza has sold out multiple times since Portnoy’s review, the Death threats were a bit too much for him.
“It was new terrain for me — It was mental,” Redd explains of the aftermath. But I don’t want to credit him for complicating my life.”
Redd continued: “We are running our pizzeria and everyone is having a good time. I’m getting death threats. I received many threats at my house. I am receiving countless different attacks in different ways.”
Although Redd said he had to turn off comments on Dragon Pizza’s Instagram to remove negative and threatening comments following Portnoy’s review, he told Boston.com that he and his staff are committed to connected to their purpose, saying, “We’re going to go back to making pizza and making people happy.”
