The crew heads into the Wild West in this episode focusing on an old ghost town. Cerro Gordo is located at an elevation of 8,500 feet in the Inyo Mountains in California. The former mining town has many horror stories, including one of children locked in the trunk of a car and left for dead and another of 30 miners buried alive.

Proof of the paranormal happens when the group drops the tape recorder into the mine to try to capture some restless spirits. As the tape recorder is pulled further down the shaft by an invisible force, the group retrieves the hebbies and decides it’s time to leave.

13. Letchworth Village (Season 5, Episode 6)

The residential facility was closed after an exposé revealed abuse by those living there. Reports of assault, neglect and rape came out of the investigation, even though the location didn’t actually close until nearly 25 years later.

11. Cau Doi Orphanage

Ghost Adventures’ Twin Bridge orphanage paranormal investigation is the first of its kind to occur at this haunted site. The children living there have been treated horribly by the staff, with the campus said to be haunted by the hundreds of spirits of the children who died there.

The crew is joined by psychic Deanna Jaxine Stinson and they use the Ovilus, which resembles an electronic Ouija board, to contact any paranormal entities inside the orphanage. Ovilus spelled out the names Harriet and Ann, leading Spooky adventures group to speculate whether the spirits are children who died on the premises or other supernatural beings.

10. The Washoe Club: The Final Chapter (Season 16, Episode 7)

Zak Bagans and the Ghostly Adventures team return to the Washoe Club. The location was first featured in the original Ghost Adventures documentary from 2004. This is the third and last time Bagans has stayed at the Washoe Club. Why did he come back? He is dreaming about the Club.

9. Trans-Allegheny Insane Asylum (Season 3, Episode 1)

The asylum is said to be haunted and the crew finds a lot of evidence that this is true. The EVPs picked up many words and phrases asking Zak and Nick to leave while they saw various wishes and heard several voices. The big controversy occurred when special guest Robert Bass claimed his EMF Meter had been thrown out of his hands. After reviewing the footage, Zak Bagan came to the conclusion that Bass actually threw the EMF himself and that it had nothing to do with the paranormal phenomenon.

8. Hellhole Prison (Season 12, Episode 8)

Located in Yuma, Arizona, the Yuma Territorial Penitentiary was once home to some pretty nasty characters before closing in 1909. Although you can expect to find plenty of evil spirits practicing perform their work in a violent place, but the reality is the opposite.

Along with hearing a little girl’s cries, human screams, and unexplained voices, Aaron Goodwin also received three scratches that he couldn’t explain.

This is also the first episode that Zak Bagans believes he is possessed by a spirit. In the episode, it is revealed that Anna Corbin, the head of housekeeping, who was loved by all the employees, was bludgeoned to death in 1950. Eugene Monroe was put on trial three times for this crime before being acquitted. During the show, Bagans started acting strangely and drifted away from the others for a bit, with everyone concluding that he was possessed by Corbin’s spirit.

6. Lewis Flats School (Season 16, Episode 8)

5. Harvey’s Haunted House (Season 11, Episode 5)

The Spooky adventures crew to New Mexico to visit the Hotel Castaneda. After several guest suicides and murder-suicides committed by wait staff, the hotel closed and fell into disrepute. It is said to be haunted by the ghosts of those who died there, and Zak Bagans was the first to be allowed into the hotel since it closed. The group also visited the nearby Plaza Hotel, which is still in operation, and tried to soothe the spirit of a child searching for his grandmother with a teddy bear.

4. The Curse of the Ghost Island (Season 20, Episode 6)

Enjoying the feeling of being back in his hometown of Las Vegas, Zak Bagans and crew visit a joint complex called Ranch Island. After the tragic death at the property a year earlier, residents began to experience paranormal activities. Using electronic voice phenomena (EVP) to communicate with spirits, they tell the spirit that they are there to listen. He replied, “Sure, got it.” Bagan continued to feel reassured when the crew recorded many strange noises throughout the night.

3. The curse of the upper fruit land (Part 14, Episode 8)

Entering the Navajo Nation, the crew encounters a family haunted by a young boy. While spending the night in the house, they tried to record a chair moving on its own. If that wasn’t horrifying enough, they also made strange noises and appeared to be growling sounds. Next was the appearance of a four-legged creature. 2. Stone Island Inn (Season 14, Episode 1)

Ever wanted to enjoy a satanic ritual during breakfast? That’s what you get when you stay at the Stone Island Inn bed and breakfast. This Oklahoma-based inn has a gruesome history and was once home to the mummy of a ship robber. This was a tourist attraction for 61 years before better heads prevailed and bodies were removed. Zak Bagans camped near the robber’s grave and communicated with him via EVP, with the ghost describing how he was hanged. Spooky thing.

You couldn’t have a list of the best Ghost Adventure episodes without including this Halloween special. It’s one of the scariest things with tangible evidence of the occult. Traveling along part of Route 66 (or Route 666 as they like to call it) through Texas, the crew stopped at three different haunted locations — the De Soto Hotel, the Concordia Cemetery, and the Goatman Bridge.

At Concordia Cemetery, Billy Tolley witnesses some spooky ghosts, while strange noises resound at Goatman Bridge. But it is at the Hotel De Soto, where Satanic rituals are said to take place, that things really get scary. The group catches a ceiling fan flying off the roof towards them on camera when the lights above suddenly come on. It’s really scary stuff and one of the most controversial things to happen on the show.
