Former unified super lightweight champion Amir Khan is ready to come out of retirement to face Jake Paul in the influencer’s next boxing bout.
Jake Paul has made a big name for himself in influential boxing, having defeated many UFC legends like Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva and Tyron Woodley, but now a former boxing icon wants a chance to fight defeat The Issue Child.
In Paul’s short career to date, he has only suffered one loss, which came via split decision to Tommy Fury – who also happens to be the only blue-legged fighter he has fought in the ring. However, that could change if Amir Khan has his way.
Speaking on Heart Breakfast with Jamie and Amanda, Khan revealed that he would love to come out of retirement to “beat” Jake Paul, despite hanging up his gloves last year after being KO’d by Kell Brook.
Amir Khan is keen to fight Jake Paul in his boxing comeback
According to the former world champion, Jake Paul really has no sympathy for him, claiming that the influencer “makes him nervous”.
“I think the way he carries himself, the way he acts and he’s also full of confidence, and he thinks he can fight. He has only been boxing for about a year, so I really want to fight him,” he said. “He was very lucky, though. He’s a little heavier than me but I don’t mind gaining weight just to beat him.”
If the two met in the ring, Paul would have a sizeable advantage in terms of height and reach, but that doesn’t seem to faze the former boxing star.
So far, there’s no word on who Jake Paul will fight next, but a fight with KSI could be on the cards depending on the outcome of the British rapper’s fight with Tommy Fury.
UFC legend Luke Rockhold is also eager to fight Jake and is guaranteeing the win, saying he would put his entire salary on the line. In any case, there’s certainly no shortage of opponents for the Problem Child.
