A gardener from Guernsey, England, could set a world record for growing a massive 8.97kg onion. Harrogate Flower Shows shared the news on Instagram. They also published a picture of the gardener with his precious possessions.

“This stunning, HUGE onion is the new record-breaking giant! The onion, grown by Gareth Griffin from Guernsey, weighed a whopping 8.97kg today on the first day of the Harrogate Autumn Flower Show and is set to be a new world record!” wrote Harrogate Flower Shows on Instagram. Along with them, they also shared a picture of Gareth Griffin proudly holding a giant bow.
