TWO footballers were left rolling on the floor in agony after horror punches took them both out at the same time.

A video of a Honduran first league match between Marathon and Olimpia has gone viral after a two-legged lunge that injured two opponents.

At the end of the scrimmage, Marathon star André Orellana made a high two-footed grab to try and win the loose ball.

Instead, the 21-year-old’s momentum saw him run into Olympia stars Carlos Pineda and Germano Mejia with his nails up.

Both away players were left huddled on the floor by the shocking challenge.

The challenge left the referee with no choice but to show Orellana a red card for undeniably dangerous play.

League leaders Olimpia went on to win 1-0, scoring just minutes before the shocking incident.

Deportes TVC broadcast commentators were left speechless by the challenge before criticizing the excessive use of force after seeing the replay.

Orellana apologized for his actions after the match.

He told the newspaper DIEZ: “It is true that I was wrong and I apologize to everyone, you are human and you learn from your mistakes.

“I think it was a game in which I was overcome by the momentum and heart for the game, that is not correct at all.

“Germán Mejía told me that nothing is happening, that he loves me and that I am part of the game, that I must not lose my DNA and that I should keep working, that I have a lot to grow.

“This is part of football, all that remains for me is to correct and know how to control every impulse. I have to know how to have balance. I tell you that it will not happen again.”

Fans were also left appalled by the attack, with one fan reacting online: “That’s not for a red card, that’s for a couple of life bans.”

Another said: “Minimum three months suspension!”

A third joked, “Karate?”

Brother deserves two red cards, wrote the fourth.

Another added: “Kicking out of world football! What a moron.”

However, some fans believed that the key detail that Orellana won the ball first was overlooked, meaning he should not have been sent off.

One fan claimed: “Minimal contact but a bit out of control. Just a warning from the ref.”

Another said: “Not even missing. Very clean ball.”

Orellana actually shared a locker room with Pineda and Mejia last season.

In fact, he could share the dressing room with the two of them next season, given that he is only on loan in Marathon from Olimpija.
